Watch Glossary
- Binary Watch
- A binary watch is not your ordinary watch!; It's really a watch with a difference - and a huge difference at that. Out with the traditional analogue minute and hour hands and in come a series of digital LED binary illuminated dots, allowing you to represent time through use of the binary code which basically is a combination of zeros and ones.
Binary wrist or bracelet watches are becoming a real fashion accessory, particularly with tech fanatics and those who like to stay one step ahead of the crowd. Show your modern binary watch to anyone who’s never seen one before and they’ll be amazed first by it's looks and then the way you can read the binary display to tell the time accurately; Wear it in a crowd.. and it's a sure-fire attention getter! - OLED Display
- An organic light emitting diode (OLED), is a light-emitting diode (LED) whose emissive electroluminescent layer is composed of a film of organic compounds.
In the context of displays, OLEDs have certain advantages over traditional liquid crystal displays (LCDs). OLED displays do not require a backlight to function. Thus, they can display deep black levels and can be thinner and lighter than LCD panels. OLED displays also naturally achieve higher contrast ratios than either LCD screens using cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) or the more recently developed LED backlights in conditions of low ambient light such as dark rooms. - e-Paper, e-Ink
- Electronic paper, e-paper or electronic ink display is a display technology designed to mimic the appearance of ordinary ink on paper. Unlike a conventional flat panel display, which uses a backlight to illuminate its pixels, electronic paper reflects light like ordinary paper and is capable of holding text and images indefinitely without drawing electricity.
- Water Resistance
- Due to the very nature of binary watches they are not meant for extreme sports and thus are generally only splash resistant (upto 3ATM).
